Based in Warrington, we offer flexible, down-to-earth, no nonsense motorcycle training tailored to the differing needs of every kind of rider. For us, it’s all about you, and we go to great lengths to ensure that you remain the centre of the experience.

Riding well and having fun should be two sides of the same coin but in every case our main objective is to encourage “thinking”. In the final analysis we want you to finish your training as a “thinking” rider – a BETTA rider. If you want to be BETTA and want a fun time getting that way, call in for a chat and a brew and we’ll sort something out. One thing’s for sure, you’ll not experience a BETTA style of instruction anywhere else.

BBRT’s aim is to help you become a pro-active, thinking, and efficient rider; a rider who can manage the risk of riding well. The collaborative approach allows focussed coaching of core skills whilst retaining flexibility.

No two courses are the same because no two riders are the same. Whether you’re taking part in your first CBT course or undertaking a BMF Blue Riband Advanced Rider course, BBRT’s methods encourage adjustment of the content to match the prior knowledge, ongoing learning, and ability of each student. It also all gets done at the right pace – your pace.

CBT (Compulsory Basic Training) course - £190

Taking place only at weekends and bank holidays, Compulsory Basic Training is a programme of instruction, safe practice and assessment for new riders wanting to ride a scooter or geared bike. You have to be at least 16 years old to ride a 49cc machine and 17 years old to ride a 125cc machine. Don’t worry if you have never ridden before as CBT is aimed at complete novices with no experience.

The course includes at least one full day of classroom and practical training in a mixed group of trainees. A bike is supplied, as is your riding equipment. The group size is rarely larger than two. If you’d prefer to complete your course on a 1 to 1 basis a 50% premium applies.

Prior to attending your CBT you may benefit from registering here and getting a head-start.

DAS (Direct Access Scheme) full licence

DAS (Direct Access Scheme) full licence 5 Day Course – £1180

DAS (Direct Access Scheme) full licence 4 Day Course – £980

DAS (Direct Access Scheme) full licence 3 Day Course – £780

Our three-, four-, and five-day full licence courses, whether category A2 (restricted) or category A (unrestricted), involve practical training for the two-part DVSA motorcycle test.

The full licence practical training packages are fluid in their content depending on your ability, experience, and the speed at which you learn. The right, great value, course will be determined at the time of booking and after extensive discussion with you.

Module 1 and Module 2 test fees are included in the course price.

A Theory and Hazard Perception test will also need to be taken and passed before the Module 2 test can be taken.

ERS (Enhanced Rider Scheme) course - £210

The Enhanced Rider Scheme is a DVSA accredited programme of assessment and training and the first step on the post-test Advanced Rider training journey. The course involves a full day’s assessment and training ride with a DVSA approved trainer. The ride will cover a variety of road types and traffic conditions. The assessment takes between 1 and 2 hours, which leaves the rest of the day to work on any areas that need improvement.

When successfully completed, you’ll get a certificate issued by the DVSA and some insurers may offer a discount when you’ve got your certificate. But it’s not about that, taking part will definitely help improve your confidence, develop your riding skills, and increase your riding enjoyment.

BMF Blue Riband course - £290

This Advanced Rider Award is an accredited course based on “advanced riding” concepts taught to police riders, and the System of Motorcycle Control documented in “Roadcraft – the Police Rider’s Handbook”. It is designed for riders who already have a working knowledge of advanced riding techniques and builds perfectly upon the ERS course.

As such, the course usually takes place over one or two days. There is an independent test to be taken and success earns you a certificate, a metal lapel pin, a shiny sticker, and a year’s membership of the BMF. To keep the qualification active the test must be re-taken every three years. As with ERS, some insurers will offer a discount if this qualification is attained.

Betta Biker Rider Training has been teaching people to ride since 2015. We offer flexible, down-to-earth, no nonsense motorcycle training tailored to the differing needs of every kind of rider. Whether you’re taking part in your first CBT course or undertaking a BMF Blue Riband Advanced course, it’s all about you, and we go to great lengths to ensure that you remain the centre of the experience.

The Company is headed by our Chief Instructor, Nic Garner, who started riding in 1976. His first ‘proper’ bike was a Yamaha FS1E DX and he says that to this day that first year of riding was the best.

In 2007 he decided to put his experience to good use and learned to train others’ to ride. He’s now proud to say that he’s a qualified DVSA CBT, DAS and ERS instructor. Additionally, he is a BMF advanced rider, trainer and examiner, and the BMF North West region Chief Instructor.

Motorbikes are Nic’s enduring passion and he believes that training others to ride is a privilege and he takes care to do it well. Importantly, he also does it with good humour because, as he says, if it ain’t fun, it’s just not worth doing.

We’re also assured that he has a Shoei-shaped head.
