CBT and DAS training near Salford
Riders from Salford and Eccles are welcome at Betta Biker. We are in Warrington, not Salford, and Salford has training schools of its own, so there may well be one closer to home. Here is what you get if you make the trip.
Should I train in Salford or travel to Warrington?
For a CBT, the closest school will often make sense. You are there for a day, and the certificate is the same wherever you take it.
A full licence is different. You spend 4 or 5 days with your trainer, so who teaches you and what the price includes can matter more than a few extra miles. These are the things to compare:
- Time with your trainer: one or two riders per trainer on DAS.
- What the price covers: Module 1 and Module 2 test fees, bike hire and riding kit are all included on DAS, with boots if you need them.
- Hours of training: 21 on the 4-day DAS course and 26 on the 5-day.
- What riders say: Betta Biker is rated 5.0 out of 5 from 417 Google reviews.
How much does a motorcycle licence cost for Salford riders?
A 4-day DAS course is £1,200 and a 5-day course is £1,350. Book your CBT with it for £125 and the training comes to £1,325 or £1,475 in total. A CBT on its own is £225 with the bike and kit supplied.
On top of that you pay £34 for a provisional licence, if you do not already have one, and £23 for your theory test. You can also pay for DAS in instalments.
How do I get to you from Salford?
From Salford, take the M602 and M62 west to junction 11, or the A57 through Eccles, Irlam and Cadishead into Warrington.
Our address is Safety House, Kerfoot Street, Warrington, WA2 8NU. Trainee parking is available on site.
Riding in on L plates? Learners cannot use motorways, which rules out the M602, M60 and M62. The A57 runs from Salford through Eccles, Irlam, Cadishead and Woolston into Warrington instead. Allow longer than the motorway time.
No bike yet? Salford Central and Salford Crescent are not on the Warrington Central line, so by train you need to change in central Manchester, at Oxford Road or Piccadilly. Kerfoot Street is under a mile from Warrington Central, and the bike and riding kit are supplied, so you can arrive and leave the same way. Check your route on a journey planner, and your start time with us, before you buy a ticket.
